Popular haunted house won’t return

After 11 years of hosting the Kyrene Corridor’s frightfully fun Nightmare on Kent Street, Kevin and LeNetta Leger say they’ll no longer stage the event at their west Chandler home.

Since starting in 2008, the event generated more than $10,000, partly from the Intel Foundation’s matching grant and volunteer hour grant programs.

This year the Legers say they will collaborate with The Center for Habilitation to help it stage a fall fundraising gala.

Theme for the 7 to 11 p.m. activity on Saturday, Oct. 23, will be “Monster Mash.” Featured will be a live band and dancing, live auction, costume contest and catered food and drink.

A newly designed Haunt, set up for the first time inside in a building, will be available for patrons’ walk-through.

Tickets are $60 each, or $50 with purchase of two or more.

Additional information, plus details on volunteer opportunities for the event, are available at www.tch-az.com
