Students from Aprende Middle School celebrated an evening of entertainment at Fiddlesticks Family Fun Park during an end-of-the-year Activity Night, leaving with high spirits as they approached the end of the school year.
“It’s something for the students to get together as a community,” said Lynn Martinson, PTSO fundraising coordinator for Aprende.
“The kids just have a really good time getting together.”
About 150 students from sixth, seventh and eighth grades came out for the event to enjoy an evening of bumper boats, go-cart racing and mini-golf.
Money raised by the kids’ parents went to the school and supports teachers, staff and students.
“This was the first time we held an event at Fiddlesticks,” Martinson said. “It was a great success.”
The school’s PTSO holds three Aprende Activity Night events each year for students.
“Most schools don’t do things like that, or rely on the student council to organize events,” she said.
“It brings the students together, and they have so much fun.”
