It’s your neighborhood – let your opinion be heard

If you have an opinion on how Tempe can improve its streets, listen up. Whether you think your neighborhood needs more speed bumps, more bike lanes, or needs to take a different approach to bringing in businesses, the only way your opinion can be heard is if you show up and let it be heard.

Two public meeting are being held in the near future to let residents gather their ideas and opinions, as part of the General Plan 2040. The General Plan 2040 brings together the community’s vision for the city over the next 30 years. Their goal is to make sure their plan reflects your point of view, and you get to vote on it as part of state law.

Issues raised range anywhere from development, land use, sustainability, transportation, mass transit, economic development, historic preservation, neighborhood enhancement, open space and recreation, as well as public art amenities.

The next public meeting will be held on September 24, 2012 and after that will be January 21, 2013. The time and place has not yet been announced, but will be soon on the city’s website. Visit www.tempe.gov/calendar for more information or you can contact Senior Planner Nancy Ryan at 480-350-8096.
