I am in favor of increasing Tempe's bicycle transportation options but the McClintock bike lane was/is a bad idea. I attended a meeting held by Tempe Chamber of Commerce with the Tempe Transportation team (sorry I don't recall names) in attendance. The transportation team members were defensive and were visibly not happy hearing opposing views. It doesn't surprise me that they are inviting public opinion while controlling discussion as McClain commented. Traffic has slowed considerably during rush hour, bike traffic is minimal and it would appear due to backups during rush hour traffic flow air pollution is increased. I would like to see a fair analysis conducted. If it was a bad idea, admit it, correct it and learn from it.
