Newcomers and oldtimers alike got a chance to share memories of their Kyrene schooldays at an alumni mixer at the Main Event entertainment venue. Festivities were preceded by a request to former students to provide an update of their lives post-Kyrene. Said Kyrene spokeswoman Rosalie Hirano: ‘We’d like to track their successes, both academically and professionally, and celebrate them as appropriate.’ She said the district also hopes to invite former students who now have their own families to continue the legacy by selecting Kyrene schools for their children. Among those sharing memories, top, were Marian Lober, 82, and Irene Groves, 92, both remembered as the Hanger sisters during their Kyrene days.
