Corona del Sol students were among the thousands of those who traveled to downtown Phoenix to join in the #RedforEd march that inundated the state capitol complex.

In recent days, Arizona residents have witnessed the most dramatic display ever by public school educators—a walk off the job.

Junior Achievement’s “18 Under 18 Awards” gives outstanding teens in Arizona the recognition that they deserve for their display of leadership, community service and entrepreneurial spirit. 

Tempe is known as a city that appreciates the arts. From the Performing Arts Center, to the bi-annual Tempe Arts Street Festival or the permanent art on display in Tempe neighborhoods, residents have come to expect entertainment options that appeal to a wide-variety of tastes.

Half a world away, young students living in war-torn and poverty-stricken locations—such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan--make their best efforts each day to gain an education in makeshift schoolrooms, while working with few educational supplies.

Staff introduced a new pilot program called “Second Step,” which addresses social-emotional topics such as values, friendships and peer conflict at the middle-school level. Currently, the program is being piloted at Aprende Middle School, with successful results.
